That’s why we:
We’ve been a proud sponsor of TrackSAFE NZ for many years. TrackSAFE is a registered charitable trust that raises awareness about rail safety and educates New Zealanders about staying safe around level crossings and the rail network. You can find out more about Tracksafe’s work at www.tracksafe.co.nz
Every August we lead a national Rail Safety Week with TrackSAFE New Zealand to raise awareness about how to stay safe around railway tracks and trains. This initiative is supported by the New Zealand Transport Agency, Auckland Transport and Greater Wellington Regional Council, the New Zealand Police, Auckland One Rail and Transdev Wellington (who operate the Auckland and Wellington commuter services respectively) and local councils around New Zealand.
We’re a regular attendee at annual Safe Kids days around the country. Our local teams join schools and community partners like the New Zealand Police and WaterSafety New Zealand to help students learn how to keep themselves safe.
The New Zealand Transport Agency has developed some rail safety resources based on the New Zealand education curriculum. We encourage schools to download them here.
In most locations around the country we can arrange for a member of our KiwiRail team to speak to your students about keeping safe around rail. Please contact us on 0800 801 070 or let us know on our online form if you would like to know more.
